Chinese Drywall: Due to shortages in drywall products between 2002 and 2007, numerous American building companies in South Florida utilized drywall imported from China in the construction of homes, apartments, and buildings. This drywall, in many cases, is now believed to be defective, resulting in the stench of rotting eggs that homeowners have been unable to eliminate. Some have even been forced to leave their homes because the odor was so foul. Others have reported problems with their air conditioning and other systems that is also believed to be related to drywall imported from China. |

Corroded HVAC: Your air conditioning system pulls the gases released by the Chinese Drywall into your air handler where it attaches itself to the copper lines. The sulfur gas attacks the copper lines and begins to severely corrode those copper lines. The corrosion weakens the lines and causes failure in the system. No matter how many times the air conditioning system is replaced, the system will continue to fail until the Chinese drywall is removed from the structure. |

Corroded Water Lines: Homes or building waterlines are also affected by the gases released by the Chinese Drywall. The gases again attach themselves to all copper in the home, including copper water lines and connections. What this means to the end user is that when the lines have corroded enough you will begin to get water leaks and water damage. This will also affect the copper on water heaters, refrigerators, and any other appliance that contains copper. |
